Welcome to www.sportsplay.net.au (the Website), the exciting sports-oriented online social network where members build and extend strong relationships, via their real-world sports activities, with their team-mates, other fans, and their officials and administrators online.

As the host of the Website, Prime Digitalworks Pty Limited ACN 063 959 357 (PDW) takes your privacy very seriously. To make it easier for you to read and understand our privacy policy, we did the unconventional thing – we wrote this in plain English and tried to keep it to a reasonably short length.

Information Collected by PDW

When you register to become a member of (the Website), you submit information such as your name and email address. As part of your personal profile, you may choose to submit additional information such as age, sports, interests, opinions and other content, such as photos and videos.

As the Website contains discussion forums and chat rooms, you may choose to disclose personal information including sensitive information or opinions about yourself, such as your philosophical beliefs, ethnic or racial origin, political opinions or sexual preferences, on the Website in those discussion forums and chat rooms. You acknowledge that such disclosure is at your own discretion and that by choosing to upload personal or sensitive information to the Website you have consented to the disclosure of that information and to that information becoming public information. Further, by uploading personal and sensitive information to the Website you consent to the collection of such personal and sensitive information, by PDW.

The Website General User Terms and Conditions prohibit Members from providing sensitive information (subject to exceptions), telephone numbers, street addresses, URLs, email addresses or other information about other people without their consent, that would allow Users to identify or contact any individual including a photograph or image of another person posted without that persons consent.

We also collect other data, which may include your IP address and what browser you are using, and information collected as a course of information carriage.

We will only collect and use your personal information that is necessary to assist us in providing our services. In most situations, the information we collect about you will have been provided directly by you. We will not collect sensitive information about you, unless you have submitted that sensitive information to the Website.

Use of Information

We will display your personal information on your profile according to the preferences you set in your account. We will use your name so that we can personalise your experience. We will use your email address to contact you from time to time and we will use your email address for security reasons to confirm that you are who you say you are. You can control the types and frequency of certain emails you receive.

We may use information, like your IP address, to statistically analyze site usage and to customize our site’s content, layout and services. The resulting information will allow us to improve our site and better understand and serve our users.

Your e-mail message content may be monitored by us for trouble-shooting or maintenance purposes or if any form of e-mail abuse is suspected.

Personal information which we collect may be aggregated for analysis but in such circumstances we would ensure that individuals remain anonymous.

If you request us not to use your personal information in a particular manner or at all, we will adopt all reasonable measures to observe your request.

Reviewing and Changing Your Profile

You may remove yourself from future messages, news, promotional materials and the like by following the instructions found within the sent message. After the Opt-Out request is processed, a final message will be sent to you confirming removal of your address.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information we hold is accurate, complete and up to date. You should promptly notify us if there are any changes to personal information we hold about you.

If we disagree as to the accuracy of the information, you may request that we attach a statement to that information noting that you consider it to be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

You can review and revise your personal profile, and who will be given access to your private team zone information, at any time.

Access to Information

You are entitled to request access to any information relating to you that has been supplied to us over this Website. You are also entitled to edit or delete your information unless we are required by law to retain it.

We will process your requests within a reasonable time, usually 14 days for a straightforward request or 30 days if it is more complicated. More time may be needed, depending on the nature of the request. We will confirm your identity before giving you access to your information.

There is no fee charged for requesting access to your personal information, however we may charge you for the reasonable cost of processing your request.

In certain circumstances, we are permitted by the Privacy Act to deny your requests for access, or to limit the access we provide. If we refuse or limit your access to your personal information, we will tell you the reason why.

Internet Awareness

Whenever you voluntarily post personal information in public areas, like journals, webLogs, message boards, chat rooms and discussion forums, you should be aware that this information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by others to send you unsolicited communications. Any information posted online by you will be treated by us as non-confidential. Please exercise discretion in deciding what information you disclose. Please also be aware that any material or information that you post online can be accessed, read, downloaded, adapted, reproduced, stored, distributed, printed, transmitted, displayed or published by others.

Children

Children under the age of thirteen (13) are not eligible to use our service unless the permission/verification of a parent or guardian is received. Once this verification is received, we recommend that children under the age of thirteen (13) restrict their profile to friends and family only, and do not disclose any personal information on the site.

PDW encourages parents and guardians to spend time with their children online, and to be familiar with the sites their children visit.

We encourage all Users and Members to use appropriate warnings and/or labelling systems in respect of Content which is likely to be considered unsuitable for minors according to the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 (Cth) and Guidelines even though that content may not be Prohibited or Potential Prohibited Content under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (Cth) and the Internet Industry Associations Codes of Practice as registered by the Australian Broadcasting Authority.

Use of Cookies

Advertisements that appear on this Website are delivered to users by our advertising and sponsorship partners. Our advertising and sponsorship partners may set cookies.

Acquisition

We reserve the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of PDW or the Website, such as acquisition by or merger with another company. If an acquiring company should plan to materially change this privacy policy, we will notify you beforehand.

The security of your personal information depends on your protection of your account password. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized people.
